Its probably one of the best server systems in an MMO. You can always play with your friends, you never have to worry about your server dying and having to spend money on a transfer. You never have to deal with having different friend groups in different servers. You never have to deal with queue times, which is a big one. Everything just kinda
we're in the middle of a WvW restructuring beta, which features an automatic matchmaker/teammaker. if you are currently not already on your guild's team, then you won't be able to play with them, until this Friday's reset. that's when WvW goes back to the server-based system, and presumably you're on the same server as your guild, you'll be able to play with them.
The megaserver is Guild Wars 2 's unique solution for allowing players on different servers to play together. With the megaserver, rather than separating maps into instances based on the player's server, maps are open to players of all servers. You can freely play with friends, guildmates, and other players on different servers.
Taeko . Go to your party tab and type in your friend's char name so that u can form a group/party. Then whoever is NOT the party leader-log out and then log back in. Hopefully this will bring u to the same instance. This worked for me and a friend during Beta.
Therefore, you can run Steam's GW2 with a launch argument telling it to use the Areanet account (the argument is "-provider Portal"), and you are playing the standalone client with your Areanet account but using the Steam install and with Steam treating it exactly like you are running GW2 on Steam, showing friends you are in-game, logging hours Guilds and individuals transfer to different servers for a variety of reasons, and the flavor of the month server changes frequently. If all you are looking for is a match-up with many players on your side, some of the high population servers might give you just as good an experience, while some of the full ones might not turn out to deliver
The good stuff is hidden behind what boils down to huge gold farms, or lootboxes, which you conveniently both can buy with real money. Guild Wars 2 is a good game, held back by monetisation practices, which are probably pushed by NCSoft (who own ArenaNet) 7. -kami- • 2 yr. ago.
Guilds are not tied to servers. Accounts are tied to servers. You can have players from several servers in the same guild, and each will represent that guild one their server. Don't know how things will be handled once the Alliance System takes over. Edited September 8, 2021 by Ashantara.8731.
Finding a world's discord is a great way to see when groups are running and looking for people, usually asking in team chat will get you a link. The Call of the Mists discord and GW2Hub discord both maintain a listing of every worlds discord servers. Find your server and the server of the world linked to yours and join both.
